I love meatballs but when i'm sick of the usual Italian style meatballs in a tomato sauce i love giving them an Asian twist. Ground Pork might prove hard to find so i make my own by grinding pork cubes in my blender. 

What You'll Need 

Meatballs 

  • 500g Ground Pork

  • 1 Cup Fresh Coriander

  • 2 Spring Onions

  • 4 Garlic Cloves

  • Thumb Size Piece Ginger

  • 2 Chilies

  • Salt & Pepper

Coconut Curry 

  • 1 Onion

  • 2 Tbs Tomato Paste

  • 1 Can Coconut Cream - 400ml

  • 1 Tbs Paprika

  • 1 Tbs Ground Coriander

  • 1 Tbs Ground Cumin

  • 1 Tsp Turmeric

  • 4 Cardamom Seeds

  • 2 Bay Leaves

  • 4 Garlic Cloves

  • Thumb Sized piece of ginger

  • 2 Chilies

  • 1 Cup Water

  • Salt & Pepper

Prep -  15 Minutes  

  • Finely chop your coriander, Chilies and spring onions

  • Grate your ginger and garlic and separate the portion for the meatballs from the one for the sauce.

  • Chop your onion for the curry.

  • In a bowl mix the ground pork, garlic, ginger, chilies, coriander and spring onions. Season with salt and pepper

  • Form the mixture into golf sized balls

Let's Get Cooking - 30 Minutes 

  • In a pot, heat cooking oil. Sauté your onions, garlic, ginger and chili until onions are soft.

  • Add your paprika, coriander, cumin and turmeric and combine.

  • Add tomato paste and combine.

  • Add your coconut cream, water, season with salt, pepper and allow to simmer at low heat for 10 minutes.

  • Place the rolled meatballs in the coconut curry and allow to simmer for another 10 minutes.

  • Finish with some fresh coriander and combine into the sauce.

  • Serve with your choice of side (You can never go wrong with a bowl of fluffy Basmati Rice)
