Homemade pizza can be such a treat. This is my go to recipe and it makes one large pizza or 2 medium ones.

What You’ll Need

  • 2 Cups All Purpose Flour (More for kneading)

  • 1 Tsp Yeast

  • 1 Tsp Salt

  • 2 Tsp Sugar

  • 1.5 Cups Warm Water

Prep - 1 Hour

  • Place the dry ingredients in a large bowl and add the water slowly while combining.

  • All the flour should be incorporated and the dough shouldn’t be too wet.

  • Flour a clean surface and tip the dough onto the surface.

  • Flour your hands and knead the dough for at least until smooth (Add flour as needed while kneading)

  • Allow to rise until it’s doubled in size.

  • Punch down the air out of then dough and knead. The dough should make 2 large pizzas.

  • Roll out your down, place on a hot oven tray and add sauce and toppings of your choice.

Hints When Making Homemade Pizza In Oven

  • Preheat your oven with the baking tray you’re using inside the oven for at least 20 minutes at 230 degrees. You want to make sure both the oven and the oven tray are hot when you’re adding your pizza dough.

  • Roll your dough out as thin as possible to make sure you get a crispy base.

  • Avoid using ingredients that release water when cooking. If you’re using something like spinach, squeeze out as much water as possible.

  • When I’m making pizza with a lot of toppings, I first put the base with sauce in the oven and allow that to cook first for 10 minutes. Then I add my toppings and bake again. This makes sure both the dough and the toppings are cooked.
